Large and small eggs

The size of a chicken egg depends on the breed and age of the hens – young hens tend to lay smaller eggs. To ensure that you know what you get for your money, eggs are generally sold in different size categories.

In addition to the conventional size categories, Toni’s has also introduced the “unusually large” category. Sometimes, for some reason, our hens lay eggs that are – well, unusually large! Just like that. These eggs are not only huge, they often also contain two yolks, the egg equivalent of a four-leafed clover – finding one means good luck, so enjoy!

Babette eggs are another of Toni’s specialty: this rare breed produces green or cocoa-coloured eggs with a delicate taste and a yolk size that is bigger than average.
